AHMF 2020 National Motoring Festival

Albury - Wodonga

Welcome to the most important dates on the calendar – the week of Saturday 28th March to Friday 3rd April 2020

This is not "just another rally", not even a variation of the traditional rally. If you have been to Cooly Rocks, Chrysler's on the Murray, the Golden Oldies Tour or Bay to Birdwood you will know there is more than one way to skin a cat. We are turning tradition on its ear; we are giving you something new, fresh, family-fun and affordable.

This festival cannot be compared with international events held in the 1970's and 1980's. Times have changed; attitudes have changed; peoples priorities have changed. All of the organising committee come with new and different ideas. We have no preconceived ideas of what should or shouldn’t, or can or can’t be done. We have the attitude of, "Why can't it be done!" We will deliver to you, a festival you will not want to miss!

The purpose of this festival (apart from having fun) is to demonstrate the importance of historic vehicles, and the large contribution to Australian's economy, to the public, media and government departments. Ensure you are there to promote this historical event and show the strength of the movement.

Australian Historic Motoring Federation Inc. (AHMF) is hosting an affordable and fun event for all to attend. We have secured partnership packages with all savings passed onto the entrants.

What is AHMF?

Australian Historic Motoring Federation Inc. (AHMF) is the national peak body for all historic motoring in Australia. AHMF is a federation of the state and territory based motoring councils. These councils represent well in excess of 1,000 historic motoring clubs and in the vicinity of 100,000 motoring enthusiasts across Australia.

 Who can attend the festival?

This festival is open to all historic vehicles, 25 years and older(This event does not cater for Hot Rods, Street rods or highly modified vehicles as they are represented by their own organisations.)

This is an international event. Most of us have friends overseas involved in the old car movement. Tell them about the Festival. Convince them to come along. Make it easy for them; lend them one of your spare vehicles. We already have attendees from Singapore and New Zealand. It will be great to welcome entrants from several other countries also.

Tour routes

We will showcase the fantastic motoring roads, scenery and attractions Albury-Wodonga districts on the Murray have to offer and, more importantly, we will have fun!

Historic Motorcycles groups are participating and, for the safety and enjoyment of all, the motorcycles with drive the same routes as the 4-wheeled vehicles BUT on different days.

We know John in his 1908 Renault, and Hart on his 1926 Harley and Sidecar, do not wish to cover the same ground in as I will cover in my 1970 Morgan yet we are all eligible (and have entered). We have catered for all vehicles making it safe and enjoyable for all drivers/riders and passengers/pillions. There are shorter and longer routes available with "short-cut" options if needed.

To avoid congestion, we have a rolling-start from 8:30am to 9:30am daily, commencing from the SS&A Club in Albury (The Albury Sailors Soldiers & Airmen's Club Limited). This is our base for the festival.
